Moving Thunderbird data to a new computer

by Ebrot » August 22nd, 2016, 3:13 am

I've got a new machine and want to shift Thunderbird email data across from my old laptop. I'm having various kinds of problem. Most importantly, can I shift my address books across, and if so how? And I don't have the information about passwords and so on that was on my laptop, so that when I tried to register some stuff, I was told that the email address was already in use - yes, it's the one I use now - but the password wasn't recognised.
Can anyone help please?
