It would for folks who have chosen Mozilla products over Outlook, Chrome, and other software choices in the same categories. Google has more than enough money to fund paid support pages.

With changes coming it might be good to look at the changes instead of the "Chicken Little" factors.
Not supporting anything, just watching and waiting in the here and now and avoiding the screaming change nitwits.
IMO Chrome isn't Mozilla and to change the 'zine to provide for a non-Mozilla package would go against singularity.
Any Chrome dialogue should always go in the tech forum anyway.
but this forum isnt the official Mozilla Help Product forum, so i dont think it would go " against " anything .

doesnt make any sense for Kerz to waste his time if people like Alice etc are going to be using Chrome. there's gonna be less activity on this forum, unless you split it up into 2, Mozilla stuff as well as Chrome stuff

I was replying to DanRaisch.

Just forget I even asked. It's not important.

That doesn't really look set up for announcements.

I only ask because there were like 2 crashes within two weeks, and like at reddit in the firefox subreddit, people were asking about the prognosis of the site.

Also, I'm kind of OCD sometimes, and I would keep coming to the site to see if it was back up yet.

It would be nice if there was somewhere to find out what was up.
forums.mozillaZine.org is a independent site owned by one person and is not run by or a part of Mozilla.org http://www.mozillazine.org/about/

Support.mozilla.org is run by mozilla.org so why would they have any announcements about this independent forum?

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/ is the section mainly for support.mozilla.org stuff and the https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/ is for support of what is mentioned on page.

The database maintenance error basically meant things was being worked on by kerz and or OSU Open Source Lab.

There are folks here who also post on the official Mozilla support forums. I imagine they would provide updates to the best of their ability in that situation.

If the server ever goes up in flames, how will the users here know if the board is ever going to come back? Is there somewhere else updates might be posted?
