THIS IS THE PROBLEM THAT STARTED ALL OF THIS THAT I WOULD APPRECIATE HAVING ANSWERED:
- On my PC, Thunderbird messages arrive at either my InBox or Spam files; on my MacBook, if something is (I conclude) a "spam" message it merely disappears; a problem, because frequently -- for example, when Mozilla sends a confirmation of UserID or Password -- some messages go directly to Spam. Outcome? On the MacBook I never receive them; on the PC I do.
THE PROBLEM THAT CAME UP, HOWEVER, IS:
- When attempting to Login to post this issue on Mozilla/Thunderbird "support" forum:
1. I enter my UserID and Password
2. I'm told "The e-mail/username information submitted could not be found"
3. I then go to Register and enter email address
4. I'm told my "email address is already in use"
SO I GO TO THE SUPPOSED "CONTACT US" "SUPPORT" links, and here's what I get:
1.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/thunderbird
2.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/ge ... ty-support
3.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new
4.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/quest ... hunderbird
5.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/quest ... bird/other
6.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/quest ... e-question
7.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/quest ... q-register
THEN:
- "Almost there! We just need you to create a support forum account!"
SO I ENTER MY EMAIL ADDRESS, ONLY TO GET:
- "This email is already in use!"
SO I GO TO:
1.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/users/auth
2.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/users/forgot-username
THEN I"M GIVEN:
- "Retrieve Username" "Forgotten your username? Enter your email address below, and we'll send it to you."
SO I REENTER/SEND MY EMAIL ADDRESS
- for the umpteenth time on your imaginary "support" webpage!
ONLY TO RECEIVE:
- "We've sent an email with the username to any account using nels vocepacifica net."
AND WHEN I GET THAT "CONFIRMATION" EMAIL:
- "Your UserID is: Hikermann" . . . EXACTLY WHAT I"VE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO USE AS A LOGIN!
SO GO TO LOGIN YET ONCE AGAIN: and enter "Hikermann"
AND THEN:
- Since your imaginary "support" webpage refuses to accept my last known Password, I click this link:
- "I forgot my password"
ONLY TO BE TOLD BY YOUR IMAGINARY "SUPPORT" PROGRAM THAT:
- "The e-mail/username information submitted could not be found."
SO, PLEASE DO TELL:
1. How the f'in' crap am I supposed to Login with the UserID YOU YOURSELVES have confirmed, if then you tell me that "The e-mail/username information submitted could not be found."
2. Create a new account when you tell me my email address is already in use, but when I attempt to use it you tell me that "The e-mail/username information submitted could not be found."
What, exactly, is the (your?) problem?
TWO issues to resolve. Anyone have the expertise to provide that resolution?
Much appreciated,
Nels Enns
