This problem occurs both my my old username + pw and new username + pw.

You're confusing us here. You say you get the error and can't sign in with the old or the new username and pw and yet you are posting here with the new username which requires you to be logged in. What am I not seeing there?

I'm using FF 73 on my laptop running W10, not a library PC.

I seem to recall something like this happened another time and there are certain steps in FF I need to take to "reset" FF.

If I Google Mozillazine and it brings up the home page for the forums and I click Sign In I get this weird page EVER time now which prompts me for a PW (not username) and then doesn't allow access.

When administrators have forced a re-set for me, I click to log in and type in my username and pw and get that message that I've maxed out the number of times to log in...even though I've only tried once.

Strange that so many folks are using Firefox 74, including connecting with these forums under Win 10, without any difficulty whatsoever.
Your user agent string seems to suggest that you're using Safari but with Windows 10. Is that true?
Is this on a library computer or your personal system?
If you are authorized to do so, have you tried a new Firefox profile?

the new FF browser is the problem. I can't access this forum with that browser.

Can you pls share the link to FF 43?

I had no login problems with 43.

I performed a "Forced Re-activation" on the 4th & Dan did one on the 10th.
There are 2 "Anonymous" activations on or just after both of those dates.

My apologies but every time I’m given a link to log in after it’s been cleared by admin I always get that error message – Max attempts attempted and I’m locked out – always on my first try.

Can you pls. Delete my longstanding username and password and then I’ll register as if all that info was never registered?

If not, what’s your plan to solve this?
