Wouldn't just splitting off the offending post be a less radical solution to locking the entire thread? Especially as the perp has already asked for the thread to be locked?

I mean, you wouldn't lock any other long-standing thread for just one tiresome post, would you? As in, no one would.

It's not just one post. The whole thread is back and forth with basically the same points being discussed/debated.

It shouldn't have been locked.
stupid and out of context responses (p.e.- Mouse4), will be deleted and sent to the trash.
...they never have been at Builds, where he was responsible for us giving up posting useful Beta threads.
