You can not read the page even when you not try to login?
Think for yourself. Otherwise you have to believe what other people tell you.

Oddly, yes, that is correct.trolly wrote:You can not read the page even when you not try to login?
I get the IP BAN error as soon as I click the bookmark for the main page.
I can put "anything" into the search boards box.
I can click on one.of the links that comes up.
But when I do, I get sent right back to the IP BAN message.
Clicking "Board Index" does nothing.
I have seen the bug before, but it was a LONG LONG time ago & the workarounds always worked.
Not this time.
ALSO: FWIW I **CAN** get to the KB articles without a problem.
It is ONLY the forum.
And I was posting here just minutes before the issue arose.
I am stumped.

Mozilla Safe Mode: no joy.
There must be a glitch at the forum server side???
That is all I can come up with.
Please advise.
Happy to PM someone my IP, but I presume you already have it?
Thanks for your time.

Re: Moderation / Spam / Login Activation Requests
I had a brain outage.
Searched some old posts of you and checked the IP address. I removed it from the ban list.
You had a one week ban for spamming. I can't verify it at the moment.
Either there was a fault or someone had hijacked your IP address.
IP address: *.*.236.26

Re: Moderation / Spam / Login Activation Requests
Hi:
Yes, it is fixed.
NO, I am NOT a spammer.
That appears to be the correct IP.
I am behind a NAT router with VERY secure passcode and security settings.
So it may have been a fluke.
I'm sure bad guys try to randomly hijack IPs all the time?
Perhaps they got lucky this time.
Unfortunately there is no way for me to get a new "dynamic" IP without completely powering off my modem (ISP's) and my router (mine) for at least 72 hours.
The only time I can do that is when I go out of town.
Otherwise we get a new IP when we get it...
That ends up being "whenever".
Thanks very much for sticking with this.
I am sorry for all the fuss.

Hi Daledoc1,
I must apologize for causing this error.
I do not know why your IP came back as a spammer, but it must've.
Might also have been left in my clipboard, along with a few others that I was dealing with.
No excuse, except that it was just after 3.00 AM here when it occurred.
Once again...mucho apologies.

I'm just glad it's fixed.
That it happened -- quite literally - before my very eyes did throw me for a loop.
And I was stymied when the usual fixes did not fix it.
I did not consider the possibility that my IP had been hijacked.
So you were of course justified in creating the ban based on the data you had.
No harm, no foul.
And thanks again very much.
Cheers,
daledoc1

Nah, the OP said they were seeing the same problem with release versions as well.
