Had a similar issue this afternoon around 1 PM EST. Did the email to webmaster and it's fixed BUT. . .
Just guessing but it may be some aberrant access attempt by some smarty pants which is meant for Windows/MS but does something screwy to Linux.
I tried a warm reboot to see if it still existed and it didn't on second try to access. Happened in the SeaMonkey forum as well.
Could get the index page and the particular forums but could not open the public posting areas or log in.
I doubt it was George.
