I tried twice and failed so I have to go thru this ridiculous captcha routine.
Who thinks this site needs to be so secure. Don't tell me to dissuade bots because a checkmark would do that. GIVE ME A BREAK!

Moving to MozillaZine Site Discussion because this has nothing to do with Firefox.

The OP obviously knows little about the sophistication of modern spam bots

OK, let's stop with the back and forth here before it's necessary to lock this thread.

It would be nice if the counter could be set to 2 or 3. Sometimes I just enter the wrong one on first try.

@Frg I just have Firefox save my password, so I don't have to always enter it.

I often access the forums from a tablet or phone where the password is not saved. If I miss on the first try, I usually get at least one more try (total 2) before the captcha kicks in.

They are a poster who is entitled to their opinion, so long as it is stated civilly and without name calling or unacceptable language.

I'm also sure that anything stored on a phone or tablet is about as secure as me spray painting the same info on the wall of the nearest public building.

I choose not to store any passwords on them.

I do as well, just saving my passwords is nice to not always have to remember, for example when I visit the forum.

Here with SeaMonkey it is game over after the first wrong try. Might be user group specific or maybe phpbb differentiates between mobile an desktop. I know I can save the passsword permanetly just decided to disable it globally on my "travel" laptop.
