I attempted to register as "thorter" , but login always fails with the message "The specified account is inactive". Please can this be fixed?

This post also fails with the message "The username you entered is already in use, olease select an alternative".

I did a forced reactivation on that account so you should receive an email to complete the process.

If you do not see the message in your inbox, check your spam folders.
