Registering today, the validation asks how many letters in "Mozilla".
If you answer 7, it says your are wrong.
If you answer 6, it accepts the registration.

Is this by design? Like a trick question because there are 2 "L"'s?

It may seem off if you only think it was about the combined total of the letters when it was about how many different or unique letters so M o z i l a = 6
