Why is the answer NOT 7?

Doesn't matter if it has been "done to death". The question is bad, the answer is 7. Change the question to "How many kinds of letters in 'Mozilla'"!!!! There is no excuse for this stupidity.

Sorry, but we cannot change anything on this site.

Only Jason, the creator can do that & he is not in a position to do it.
Way too much work & home/family duties to look after. (Apparently.)

Well it is 7 in your mind because you are assuming it is only about the combined total.

If you think about it the M o Z i L a = 6 makes sense. Sure a word like unique added in would have made it more obvious to people who think it was only about combined letters.

Actually your own words "How many kinds of letters in 'Mozilla'" makes the answer be 6 and not 7 because you would not be counting L twice.

Yes, that's exactly what he is saying -- the question should be stated "How many kinds of letters in 'Mozilla'" in order to get the answer that the board requires.

Kerz probably could have fixed this in much less time than it took for him to post in the "The End" thread.
