The login doesn't like my user name which I have as ErikThePope & there is no "forgot my user name" on the dialog.
My e-mail is erikshank_at_wavecable dot com so you can communicate with me. I am having trouble with Thunderbird, which is why I'm trying to log into mozillaZine.

Have you tried logging out and back in, selecting “Keep me logged in ?“
& > If you are using https:// try using the http://forums.mozillazine.org/ instead.
You should also clear your cache & the site cookies.
There are other threads on the subject as well, where some are not being able to log in.

The forum software is getting updated & is taking a tad longer that anticipated & throwing up a few errors in the process.

Another key step is to make sure you check the box for "Log me on automatically". Seems to help make the log in action work better.

I have tried all of the above, still no joy. It seems to thing my user name (ErikThePope) is wrong but there is no way to tell it that "I've forgotten user name".

Try clearing all cookies related to mozillaZine and then use http://forums.mozillazine.org/ucp.php?mode=login with [v] Log me on automatically each visit checked.
Hmm there is actually no account of ErikThePope on http://forums.mozillazine.org in memberslist or in manage users in ACP as are you sure about the spelling if you do have an account here?. Also you would not have been able to use ErikThePope as a Guest poster if there was an account name of ErikThePope here.
