I just registered and confirmed and can't log in

I get an "invalid name or password" message; both are accurate. I tried "lost my password (even though I hadn't), entered the email address with which I registered, and was told that it didn't match the user name "firebill" (which, as you can see, I'm using now). So, I went back to the confirmation email, copied the code from there, and validated again. The message was (correct) that "firebill" had already been validated. What's going on? I'm feeling unloved here!

If you had registered under the username 'firebill' you would not be able to use it as a guest login name.

What date did you register?

My registration confirmation email is dated (and was received on) 2-25-06 (yesterday) at 10:32 PM Eastern Standard Time. It's possible that I posted a message before confirming; at this point, I can't remember. (I had a scrolling problem after upgrading to v1.5; that problem was solved for me very quickly in another forum, where I was also listed as a guest.

Is there anything *I* can do to straighten this out?
