MZ needs a Recycle Bin

Post by tve »

Fudge and Evangelism look pretty messed up due to the spamming by that one-troll-army... if you dont want to delete his posts (because you want to show them to his ISP or whatever), why dont you create a Trash Forum where all the trash is stored?

An interesting idea. I'll look into it.

Agreed. Locking the threads and killing the account helps, but other readers still need to click the thread before they know that it is a waste of time.

On another forum troll posts are moved to a *closed* forum, where only moderators can see them. Then, if other moderators decide that it wasn't a troll after all, the thread can be moved back. Which rarely happens :D

no point in making the trash closed ...

on the contrary, it might make it easier to avoid feeding trolls for others and is also kind of embarrassing for the original posters (which is good in case it really was trolling).
Finally, not might also make it possible for people to disagree with a admin's decision which can be good too, at times (especially in the Afterdark forum, it is hard to tell what is spamming and what is just ordinary, well ... ).

Its when the judgement of the admistrator really counts, maybe some sort of voting system could be employeed to decide on removing troublesome people and there posts.
