Camino [2.1.2] optimized for Intel Core Duo & Core 2 Duo
Well you might remember me from my optimised builds for PowerPC processors. I now have a preview test build of Camino 2.1b2 optimised for the Intel Core2 Duo processor family (note: "nocona" was used for the optimisation flag).
Anyway, it's available from only one location at the moment, inside the MediaFire folder for Camino 2.1.

Re: Camino [2.1rc2] optimized for Intel Core 2
Well I have version 2.1rc2 available to download from both locations now.
For the application icon, I've gone for the purple icon in ~Flarup's Camino Icons http://flarup.deviantart.com/art/Camino-Icons-55314733. I've not been able to contact him (or her?) to ask if it was ok to use them, as I've not been able to find a way to send a message (without registering with DeviantArt).

This thread is getting a bit confusing for me. Could you please provide a direct link to the Intel Core Duo optimized build of RC 3? Assuming one exists.

Umm... Well I don't think there's a "direct" link available, not straight to the file itself. The file hosting sites won't allow direct linking unless I cough up money (which I don't have!) so this link is the best I can offer at the moment.

Re: Camino [2.1rc3] optimized for Intel Core 2
Oh wait, did you say original Intel Core Duo not the Core 2 Duo? I don't have any for Core Duo, is only for Core 2 Duo.

Thanks, RP, for your quick reply. Looks like I'm confused about many things Just careless reading on my part. Sorry to have bothered you.

@ fyreflye: Well, if you ask nicely, I might be able to knock up an original Core Duo optimised build for you.

If you have the time, that would be a great service to me and I'm sure to some others

Re: Camino [2.1] optimized for Intel Core 2
Actually, I've tried it and found that the build for Core 2 Duo works without problems on my Core Duo machine (tested both RC 3 and final release.) Which is not surprising when all the Intel builds I've seen and used have never specified any particular Intel build needed for it to work on an Intel machine. So thank you very much for the build

Intel Core Duo
@ fyreflye: Well, I have an original Core Duo optimised build for you to test out.
Is interesting that the other build still works ok but I'm sure some of the optimisations in it aren't appropriate for the Core Duo. Please have go with it and report back if any problems found.

Thanks so much! But where is it? The most recent link you provided still goes directly to the Core2 download.
