(puddock12) no history in location bar autocomplete

Post by puddock12 »

I am using Version 2.1 (1.9.2.24 20111113195207)
I get no history when I type the first few letters of the url in the locator bar.
In fact I get no suggestions and have to type the entire url.
I have never used bookmarks.
My version of Camino is non functional for me
Why would you spend time fixing something that worked perfectly?

Do you have history set to '0' ? If yes, then that is the expected behaviour.

@puddock12, if you open Console (in /Applications/Utilities/) and filter for 'Camino', do you see any exception being logged, or anything else ?

Do you see these same 5 errors every time you launch Camino?

What happens if you launch Camino using a fresh profile (Troubleshoot Camino can automate testing with a temporary fresh profile)?
Mac OS X 10.3.9 • PowerBook G4 17" 1.33 GHz | Mac OS X 10.5.x • MacBook Pro 15" 2.2 GHz

At least the first two are totally harmless; I'm not sure about the other three, but based on the timestamps I'd bet they're all related.

I tried the trouble shoot Camino and nothing happened
I deleted the profile and nothing changed
This fairly strange. Any other ideas?
Thanks

How are you triggering this one?

12/5/11 12:09:09 PM Camino[34774] Download failure code: 80004004

In other words, what are you doing with Camino around that time?

You're going to have to explain in a lot more detail than "I use macjournal". What, specifically, are you doing around the time Camino is logging that download warning in Console?

It is not working all of the time.
What does the download warning have to do with the location bar not working
How would I know what I am doing when the the download warning is showing in console?

@puddock12, is you system (OS) in good health ? On IRC, the suspicion was voiced that those errors and problems you see might be a symptom that your OS is damaged in some ways.

If you create a fresh user account on your Mac (System Preferences > Accounts pane) and test while logged in under that account, can you reproduce the errors / failures with the location bar ?
