Dude, Where's My Search Field?

Post by Ovadiah »

Running 10.5.8, Camino 2.1 (1.9.2.24 20111113195207) -- and yesterday I opened a link in a new window, and I noticed the search field (which was set to Google) was gone. Today, after a restart, it isn't there in any window or tab. No use clicking the magnifying glass icon to try an engine other than Google, because it isn't there. What happened? How do I get it back?

Pull the little dot at the end of the address bar to the left to reveal the search input field.

Wow. that was easy! I feel stupid as well as grateful, but I think the gratitude predominates: Thank you!

You may have accidentally double-clicked on the little dot to collapse the search field; on 10.5 and up, double-clicking the dot will toggle the search field between expanded and collapsed states.
