Current Roadmap?

Post by rufwork »

The roadmap I found for Camino seems, well, a little dated.

Where's the 411 for Camino's future, or is 2.1.x pretty much it?

AFAIK Gecko no longer supports embedding, so it sounds like it would be too difficult to continue to support a Gecko-based web browser. My guess is that the only possible solution is a WebKit-based browser.

There are a few other threads down the list, detailing the developers dilemma, possible plans. You can find more information there.

I don't care that much for Webkit, so I've been using the Mozilla group's "Aurora" from time to time. It ain't Camino, but it is light and is Gecko. :-k

Aurora is just the name of one of the development channels for Firefox and it in between the Beta and unstable Nightly.

Yeah, I know, but it does have a much nicer icon and seems to have much less bloat.... one thing I've always liked about Camino is the nightly build aspect and this "Aurora" is the closest thing I can find.........
