Question about the Download

Post by Qoodoz »

Hi,
I really like using Camino because of its small footprint. I have all plugins disabled but when browsing to a page that has flash video the browser automatically downloads a .swf file. I just feel this is a kind of security risk. Shouldn't it prompt me for response before downloading the file? Or better yet is there a way to turn off this behavior? Can anybody please help? Thank you.

Are there specific sites that trigger downloads, or does that happen whenever any site tries to show any Flash content?

I've seen it regularly on sites that use flash to show videos or audio due to bad detection routines; most of those video players have been updated, but of course sites must follow suite and update their local code.

The downloaded file is just a placeholder and not dangerous.
