Talk about the native Mac OS X browser.

I have been using camino for some time now.
Today when I have gone to access news story pages accessed from links on the bbc news website then the pages appear to behave rather strangely in that they do not display.
They appear for a split second and then go blank. No amount of refreshing makes a difference. The site links work fine on Safari.
Initially the page appears and then goes blank. In the tab page description it goes from containing the headline of the news item but when the page goes blank this tab description changes to the link (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/followed by the link)
I have tried emptying the cache but to no avail.
Same here. I posted earlier in a different forum (I think).
Camino and Firefox are affected, but not Safari and Omniweb.
Pages with video play as normal.
This is on a PowerMac G5 running OSX 10.4.11 (not an Intel...)
hello campesimo, I'm on a powerpc G5 on MacOs 10.5.8 but I reckon its browser specific.
A lot of pages open normally strangely enough. The sports section seems to work. It appears to affect the main news bit and as you say the video bits work ok. Very odd as things were going very well up until last night.
Lets hope that someone may have an insight into this.
Hi Guys, i just registered to post about this.
it started a couple of days ago. I am up to date on the latest Camino.
Safari 6.03 is okay
I am running a 2011 mac mini 2.0Ghz..Mac OS Lion 10.7.5
On advice in other forum scrapped BBC site cookies, cleared cache. No improvement.
Closed down computer, went for lunch, have just switched on again ...
and everything is back to normal on BBC pages!
I'd love to know just why!
It was probably "their" fault, coz I had the same error & I haven't changed anything.
Haven't deleted the site cookies or cleared the cache.
Indeed I think the problem must have been rectified at their end as things are working normally again. I have not changed anything.
The change must have been made at some point around midday today as I had tried earlier with the same problem occurring but now its all going as well as it should be.
Oh well, like others I'd like to understand what the problem was but responses from the BBC are as a double yoker!
All the best
As far as I understand, something in one of the tracking scripts had gone bad causing the page to reload (I saw the issue briefly both with Camino and Firefox nightly, but not with Safari, and not long enough to try to debug…). It only affected international users, I think. My UK based friend never saw the problem. Anyway, the site seems to work fine now.
Yeh..all is okay now here.
They are always meddling on the BBC website...knob twiddlers
