I have not downloaded the new nightly yet. I guess the new download manager is a nice piece of code?

yes, it's pretty neat. I was looking forward to the OmniWeb/IE/Mozilla style download managers, and though this one has a bit of work to do (stop popping up damn it!), it seems to work out well.

On the other Chimera board, we already have several (by which I mean, two) variations of the Download Manager, ready to install. Mine automatically 'x's the download as soon as it is done, and is incapsuled in a palette, so old downloads no longer show up. If you don't like this behavior, but want it in a palette, try v. 1.0 of mine instead of 1.1. While this doesn't exactly close the window, it does fix one of the annoying behaviors of the palette.

I like the download manager, but I wish you could set it to stay where it is instead of popping to the front everytime, and the ability to set a maximum number of download entries to keep would be great so I don't have a list of the last 200 downloads. Do these things and add file type/helper info (so I can have some files open automatically and others not) and I'll be very happy.

Just found a bug with the download manager. 187509 It will prevent you from loading any pages so you might want to take a look at it. It has to do with having more than 64 downloads in the Downloads window's history.
