As far as I know they were just gone when we launched, I don't remember seeing them disapppear while browsing. I think the first time on my girlfriends mbp was with 1.0.3, the second time on hers and first on mine was 1.0.4. We are both on MBP's (hers is first generation mine is second generation) OSX 10.4+ updated weekly. It did not automatically recover.
