Bug 508940 - Share colors and background rules in a central file
Two things here:
1. use of pre-processing to store common values (such as colors) in one config file.
2. Use child selectors when addressing treechildren (see changeset http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/73808eec9e7c )

Very interesting stuff. You can even make those child selectors work, when DOMi says they shouldn't. Now, why you might want to distinguish between background colors for places list vs places content vs places sidebar, I don't know. But now you can . . . with 3.6pre, yet.

Ed, AFAIK those child selectors were ever possible and DOMi has ever told you can. From:
http://www.w3.org/TR/2001/NOTE-xbl-2001 ... nymous-css
Style rules using the child, descendant or sibling selectors transparently cross binding scopes and operate on the altered and original content models.
Am I missing something here?

Hey folks, we like to keep this and its brother thread as clean as possible to make things easier to find. Can you discuss things in a new thread please? Thanks.

Bug 511107 - Need a centralized way to assign lightweight themes to XUL windows
- This might be an unnecessary change in the third party themes on Firefox 3.6.

Bug 513392 - Use styles on the normal icon rather than a separate hardcoded image for plugin icons
While this removes a hard references from content to an image in skin, you need to keep this image if you want to keep compatibility with 'older' foxes.

Go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... rt=popular.
There you will find thousands of themes for Firefox. Just select the one you like and click 'Add to Firefox'.
