I'm seriously thinking about building this into my themes because this whole Personas mess has me so mad. I get angry emails and bad reviews on AMO about Personas already and 3.6 is not even Public yet.

not a bad idea actually. since the personas aren't supported in our themes, we should not show that to users while using our themes.

I don't know if this is kosher but couldn't you redirect that to the themes section of AMO?

As a theme user, I have questions (probably dumb ones too).

If at the time of 3.6 release a theme is updated, but the developer did not kill the link, can the user add the code to the theme jar file himself? If yes, where?

Will the theme still offer updates trough the FF automatic updating feature?

Thanks, and sorry for intruding 8-[

Yes, users just add it to the userChrome.css of their Firefox profile. Just follow Section 4 of this link - viewtopic.php?p=3519925#p3519925

As well as -

Code: Select all
#getMore { display: none !important; }

...users may also like to add this, as well -

Code: Select all
#installFileButton { display: -moz-box !important; }

This unhides the Install button in the Addons Manager that allows you to easily install themes and extensions stored on your harddrive. It was always there and was hidden for no good reason, ages ago.

Yes. 8-)

It removes only the Get Themes link.

Yes, I understood that part. That's why I was asking if I can remove the link myself on a theme.

Thanks for your reply, and for the link supplied :)

Happy New Year to you!

Hey Frank, that's a good tip about the Install button.
