Coincidentally, I happen to belong to a barbershop quartet called, appropriately enough, Phoenix Rising. We have a logo, which I thought I'd throw into the ring as another example of a Phoenix logo, which might inspire some more ideas. We asked a graphic artist to design something for us, and he produced this.

(Quick and dirty hack. Didn't have enough detail on the bird in order to get it anything other than just plain red. Maybe somebody can tweak some more, and get rid of the black outline between the bird and the flames.)
I don't suggest we use this without explicit permission from the original designer, though.
