Thunderstripe for Thunderbird

Post by Junior Aspirin »

Thunderstripe for Thunderbird
There are currently versions for 1.5.*, 1.0.* and version 2.0.* although the later is in development.

Icons by Christoph Mayer and Mark Carson. Trash icon by Relativity_17. CSS by Scratch and myself. Menuitems subskin guidence by catTheif. Mac OS fixes by RobertJ. German Cutemenu Translation by Chrissss

The Thunderstripe Thunderbird theme is an attempt to copy of the default Firefox theme winstripe.
This theme in itself is a modification of Winstripe for TB by Scratch and Mark Carson.

Subskins:
add the following code(s) to the TOP of your userCrome.css

Code: Select all

/*Stripes in the mailpane*/
@import url("chrome://global/skin/subskin/zebra.css");

/*Cutemenus*/
@import url("chrome://global/skin/subskin/menuitems.css");
/*German version*/
@import url("chrome://global/skin/subskin/menuitems-de.css");

/*Cutemenus - all menuitems iconised*/
@import url("chrome://global/skin/subskin/menuitemsfull.css");
/*German version*/
@import url("chrome://global/skin/subskin/menuitemsfull-de.css");

/*mozilla.org style account central and address book*/
@import url("chrome://global/skin/subskin/ac-mozilla.css");

Themed Extensions:
  • Nightly Tester Tools
  • Buttons! (Partly Done)
  • Enigmail
Updated
  • Mac progress bar fixes
  • New feed icons
  • Rough version for Thunderbird 2.0 - will be sorted out properly when a beta is released, but is useable at the moment
Ideas/To do:
  • Theme Lightning extention (not a big job)
  • Multi locale cute menus
  • Single theme with userchrome hacks to enable platform specific fixes
  • A version to match that of firefox 2.0
Known Issues:
  • Misaligned toolbar text (2.0 Version)

Jep. Good job and THANKS FOR IT. So it's time to get rid of this somehow oldfashioned standard theme

Click on "Local folders." It seems to be missing an icon for the "View settings for this account" link. I'd check it out further but everything seems fine so far and I need to get some sleep anyway.

OK Fixed the account central page, changed the offline icon, and made the throbber look a bit better, i stole it from firefox winstripe-the old one wasnt as sharp.
download from the first post.

i probably wont add any of the fancy css headers, im happy like it is, and there will probably be some more changes to the UI before 1.1 final is released-i dont want to mess around with it all, only to have to redo it all again.

the only thing i am thinking of doing is adding a slight highlite to the options icons like in firefox, currently they do not change. i may work on that if i get time. let me know if anything is broke though still.

I have the latest Dear Park Alpha 2 nightly build (5/13/2005) installed, and all it says when I try to install it is "Thunderstripe 1.0.2+ Could Not be installed because it is not Compatable With Deer Park".

This is a theme for THUNDERBIRD, not Deer Park. Download it and install it through Thunderbird.

You know, I should have thought of that, given the Thunder in the title! ^_^ Sorry for the confusion!:D Lol!

Gee, it's working MUCH better now! :D

fixed a few things - now the javascript console has winstripe icons, also updated the warning icons to those of the latest firefox nightly. see the change log above.

Download in the usual place

I have a request. does anyone have any ideas of wat i could use for the Blocked image icon? i currently use the Error icon, but it looks a bit scary!

Thunderstripe 1.1 could not be installed because it is not compatible with Thunderbird 1.0+.
(Thunderstripe 1.1 will only work with Thunderbird versions from 1.0+ to 1.1)

That's what I get when I try to install it.

Using the 7-19 nightly.

thats strange. can you check this for me...

options>advanced>general>config editor
app.extensions.version should be 1.0+ (that is the default value)

you may have changed it so your extensions work.
