Theme developement crisis. Please help!

Post by themebandit »

I'm trying to change the color of the following areas in the photo.

1. The white strip that runs along the top of the title bar.

2. The round white background on the back navigation button.

3. The thin white border at the top and bottom of the URL bar and between the url and the stop-go-reload button.

4. The White rectangular patch at the center of the active tab.

I've tried everything I can think of in the browser.css code and nothing has any effect. Any help us much appreciated.

Download and install this Firefox addon DOM Inspector so you can find the .css file that is causing those issues.I have the same or similar problem with the tabs like your problem with the white rectangle in the tab button in your picture just like in my pic here:

Which version of Firefox are you using? If you can fix the white rectangle in the tab area where the title of the webpage is displayed can you pass on the fix to me so I can fix the theme I am trying to fix\maintain.... If I can find a fix for that problem I will pass on the fix to you so you can see if it will fix the theme you are trying to fix.

Thanks.

Hi @maxdamage! Thanks so much for your feedback and tips. I managed to figure everything out through trial and error and released my theme to Mozilla a few months ago. You can view the finished work at: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... -charcoal/

Do you remember the fix for the tab problem? Will check out your theme asap.

Thanks.

To be honest it was so complicated and took so many trials and errors I can't remember how I managed to cross the finish line with my theme. I wish there was a guide but Mozilla like Apple with MacOS keeps moving the goalposts with each new release. Just keep going and eventually you'll find a way to bend FF to your will.
