So these b**tards officially killed custom themes?

Post by jivko »

I developed 10 of these but did not work on them in 3 years. Went on the mozilla add-ons website today but there are no custom themes anymore or atleast I couldn't find any. Have they officially killed custom themes? I remember them having an attempt to hide them a few years back but community was still somewhat good back there and we manage to make them put a "complete themes " section on the bottom of the themes submenu. "Complete themes" how retarded that sounds. What a joke, same like the browser these days. No wonder it lost so many users.

Correct. No more complete themes starting with Fx 57.

Shame really. Back in those FF2 and 3 days themes were even more popular than extensions. Knowing a bit of CSS you had all the freedom in the world to do whatever you want. It's a shame really Mozilla. Instead of keeping or further developing what made you different from other browsers you kept copying Google. We don't need a 2nd Google browser or a bad copy of it.

what the hell was this about https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2017/02 ... n-firefox/
they just decided it was too much trouble and scrapped their future plans?
edit: I see an 'update' https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2018/03 ... pi-update/

I personally never liked how they made those lame personas "themes" then did their best to push out and minimize the REAL FF themes.
