Charamel "artfully" gone

Post by denro »

The beautiful theme, Charamel, which has not been updated to latest verions of Firefox, looks as though it has been pulled from the author's site:

http://members.shaw.ca/lucx/

At least he is consistentely an excellent artist with his manor of announcing that he has removed Charamel. I hope that either the author or someone to whom he gives permissions upgrades this theme to work with current Firefox versions. It was IMO the most attractive and professional of all themes.

Something is still going on there. There is a link beneath the 'artwork', although barely viewable ;)

Could also be some sort of hacker attack:

Code: Select all

<div id="evilhacker" align="center">

So hovering over the 1.0 does not give you the charamel.jar to download like I just did????

Very sneaky, however it has a slight bug unless it by design. If you have the navigation bar at the top with the buttons next to help etc.

Then the address bar flexes if you hover over tools or help etc. Anyone else notice?

I have found another bug, I think. When you have many tabs open, then the window starts to expand, and pages are displayed incorectly. Also i didn't find this little close button in the tabs panel, that one that was there on the right.
Can anyone confirm this, or its only in my computer ?

My bug was caused by another extension called flatstyle https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/m ... fox&id=988

I have to say I never used this theme before, but after seeing the EM and TM changes I have to say this is brilliantly done!

I feel a bit like I have been "had" but this is a fun game the artist is playing. I've downloaded both from the secret page and will try them later. If Charamel is upgraded then the two best themes, Charamel and Modern Pinball, have versions not on the mozdev pages that work with the latest Firefox. I currently am using a slightly hacked version of Modern Pinball 1.4.1

Btw, when I visited the site the other day, the "secret" link was there, but the big scribbly gif hadn't appeared yet. Hmm...
