Yes, it is a toolbar button(icon). See this thread: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=62096

Also, check this out at the following: http://www.squarefree.com/burningedge/

2004-03-07 Builds

* Fixed: 214893 - Mail Integration UI. Adds "Mail" button to toolbar palette, with a submenu providing convenient access to mail, newsgroups. Adds Ctrl+M to compose new message.

These are some mail-type pinstripe icons from Kevin's site. http://kmgerich.com/archive/000051.html

Hope this helps. Thanks for the effort!

macLarge wrote:I quickly made the scrollbars and some other elements yellow/orange. This is listed on my geocities page as the "yellow variant." Check it out!!

Update: I had some time to tweak the theme. I've listed the changes on the geocities site.

First of all, I have to say that this is the ABSOLUTE BEST PINSTRIPE PORT FOR WINDOWS THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN. Excellent work, Maclarge. I can speak for everyone here when I say its about time somebody does it right.

However, like any theme user, I'd like to point out some imperfections.
(Thanks for fixing the slightly off buttons for the next release, by the way)

1. The bottom scrollbar is showing a black background, as you can see.
Image

2. Active in-view tabs don't contrast very well with the inactive tabs. Some more distinction between the two, much like in the actual Pinstripe theme, would be great. You dont have to completely emulate the actual theme, but rather just improve the distinction between active and inactive tabs.

Pinstripe port.

Actual Pinstripe theme.

3. "Ok/Cancel" and "Yes/No buttons" have a slight cosmetic inconsistency. Specifically, the "ok" should be as dark as the word "cancel" as there is already a distinction between which is being hovered over, shown by the blue color of the button.
Image

Other than these suggestions, this is an amazing theme.

Also a request. Any chance of a silver/grey/gunmetal scrollbar version? Blue looks nice, but a grey would look pretty sweet with this theme as well.

Thanks much for your hard work!

neoufo51,
Thanks for the positive comments. About the three imperfections that you listed:

1. I am confused as to why the background is black for you. I do not see this when I use firefox (I use Redhat 9 with the latest gtk builds). Does anyone else have this problem?

2. I agree with you. I'll fix the tabs.

3. This problem should be fixed in the new yellow theme (but not the default blue theme, which I'll update sometime soon).

Just a question - I'm not too familiar with the Mac OSX version of pinstripe, but isn't the background of the theme meant to actually have pinstripes (like Mac OSX itself)?

I wouldn't mind seeing the pinstripes, I quite like them!

i updated the both 'pin4lin.jar' and 'piny4lin.jar' (yellow) on the geocities site, and I made the inactive tabs darker (still might fix the inactive tabs). I don't know it thomasobeid's comment is meant for me, but there are pinstripes in the toolbar background, they're just hard to see. However, this is how the official pinstripe theme looks (I think...)

Interesting. I'm running XP Pro SP1 just to let you know. I'll investigate to see what could be the problem, but like you said, if anybody reading this has a black backgrounded bottom scrollbar please post on this thread and tell us what OS you are running.

Thanks for the incredibly fast reply and fixes. The new tabs look much better now and the ok/cancel buttons are perfect.

To thomasobeid, look closer, there are pinstripes there. I didnt think anybody couldnt see them. You may have to adjust your monitor settings to see them a little better.

Maclarge, I don't know if you have seen this page, but here it is for reference on Pinstripe.

I did a small mod to macLarge's Pinstrie theme to make the tabs look more like the original, I borrowed* the code from the port at this site which I found to be the best take on the tabs but the rest of the theme was for my own taste not as good as macLarge's.

macLarge if you want to redo the tabs I would suggest taking a look at this theme, note you dont have to jump the many hoops that they provide to install the theme thats just to give it the full Mac makeover just copy the classic.jar over your exsting one and the tabs are displayed fine reguardless.

It's the port by Magbi 9

http://www.cbw-clan.de/files/skins/pins ... lassic.jar

*When I say borrowed it was more like hammered into the other theme because I didnt have a clue what I was doing but it turned out okay in the end : )

Code:

}

That is because the nightly build have the new EMAIL BUTTON which allows you to access your mail account directly from Firefox. I have been requesting this update from MacLarge and am patiently waiting in anticipation that he will come through for us. With his EXPERTISE it should be no problem. There is a thread regarding this. http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=62096
Hope this helps.

I still have trouble finding the mail button when I use recent firefox builds. Regardless, I've added the button into this theme. However, I don't know how it looks (since I can't seem to see the mail button- maybe this is a linux thing?), so please tell me if everything is aligned properly.

Thanks

Out of curiosity, does anyone know what the font used for the tabs in the Mac pinstripe theme is (from neoufo51's post)?

Hi macLarge,

nice piece of work - it'excellent. Can I also make a couple of suggestions that were also incorporated into the Charamel theme - any chance of making the fonts in the bookmarks toolbar and tabs smaller and in a normal typeface rather than bold?

Zab, you can easily change this yourself, to change the tabs put this in your userChrome.css (and can put whatever you want for size and font style)...I haven't changed the bookmarks but you can probably figure it out by searching the forum a bit.

/* change the font style on the tabs */
.tab-text {
font-size: 7pt !important;
font-family: Tahoma !important;
}
