Yay! :D The themes page had my OS wrong, so it wasn't in the list.
Well, I guess I'll have to find something else to complain about then ;)

The buttons on the help screen are messed up. It doesn't bother me, but I thought I'd mention it. Screenshot here.

Hi Bernie,

I moved from Moz 1.7.x to Firefox when I read the Seamonkey branch was withering, and oh-my-god-what-where-they-thinking with that truly awful theme? So the first thing I set about finding was a port of Mozilla's theme. Surely there must be one? Yes there is: GrayModern! Thank you!

Two very small issues I noticed:

(i) the "back/forward/refresh/etc" buttons have a slightly lighter background than the navigation bar background, so I see this almost invisible box around each button;
(ii) the separator between the navigation bar and the bookmark bar seems too light (somebody else already mentioned this).

Also, many people love the design and layout of GrayModern but I noticed that some would prefer a different hue than grey. Now, I am completely ignorant about Mozilla chrome editing, but would it be possible to have Firefox recolour all elements on the fly, based on a hue set as a preference?

Keep up the good work. I wouldn't want to use Firefox without this theme. Please let me know how I can donate to you (PayPal preferably)?

Regards,
Mathew.

You're welcome. :P

This is an alignment issue that a few people have seen, and I'm not really sure what causes it. It could be that there's something in the latest Firefox builds that I haven't seen. Most people using the theme do not see this behavior.

It would be difficult, but certainly not impossible. It would require a complete rewrite, though, since much of the color you see in the theme is graphical. If you would like to try another hue, though, there is always FirefoxModern, which is more bluish in hue and was originally based off of my GrayModern port.

If you (or anyone) would like to donate, please send me a private message on here or contact me via my blog. Thanks!

Hello

I have just installed Firefox (second time I did it) and.... starting immidietly to look for a theme which would look exacly like the Moder theme in Mozilla Suite.

I was a bit disappointed when I didnt find it quickly... I thought its so obvious to make a theme which mimics the one from Mozilla sute.

Then MozillaZine Forum came to help me :)
I posted a question and started to wait...

I didnt took long before I was getting some replies.

So I was directed to the theme made by you Bernie. I like it a lot, no doubt about that but... (there is always but) I would like the theme EXACLY as the modern them in Mozilla Suite.

I would guess its not difficult to change the color of the theme when everything else is already done?

Do you plan to make the pure Modern (call it that way - some say - blue Modern) ?

Hello, PLEASE provide this skin with the print button! Several other are missing: do you have some reference link/info that explains how to modify the looks or add a button to a skin?... Appart from that, great looking theme!

If this theme is still being maintained, is there any projection for a v1.5 update? The default theme just isn't me.

Version 0.7 Released

Post by Bernie »

GrayModern 0.7 Released

Consider this a major maintenance release of the GrayModern theme to catch up with all the goings-on in theme-land between Firefox 1.0.x and 1.5. Other than that whole game of catch-up, I also managed to fix the issue where the print button wasn't showing up in small icons mode.

Look for the new version to show up over at Mozilla Update when this bug gets fixed.

In the meantime, download via the link below and install by dragging the downloaded .jar file into your themes window (available from Tools, Themes).

Download GrayModern 0.7 here.
