compatibility with FF 0.9 rc1?

Post by plucky »

Hey, folks.
I just tried the new FF 0.9 release candidate and LeBreeze appears to install fine but you can't switch to the theme. Clicking on the theme in the Themes window and clicking "use theme" doesn't seem to have any effect. Restarting FF doesn't help. Clean profile, clean install. Just thought you'd like to know. Thanks again for all the excellent work!

See previous comment about editing internal name.
Version that works with me (temp location, will be removed in some days):

This only worked in a clean profile here.

Awesome! Thanks. That version installed fine here. :-)
I thought the comments regarding the internal name only applied to Thunderbird so I'm glad to see that solution fixes Firefox as well.

Thunderbird temporary fix:

NO WARRANTIES, as the em:id is equal to the Firefox one, which means it is likely to be incompatible with a future version. Once the (un)officials release a fixed version, I will remove my versions.

So you can actually apply the theme not just install it :).

I only see a contents.rdf in lebreeze-tbird.jar; can you explain in more detail?
That was just for Firefox.

Okay, after being virtually severed from the Internet for about two weeks (and missing the big 0.9 release in the process), I'm back. And frankly, I'm exhausted. Unfortunately, I've decided to cease further development of my "unofficial" version of LeBreeze, in order to pursue other interests. Don't get me wrong, it's been a great educational experience and all, but I just don't think I'm up to the task anymore. My sincerest apologies to anyone who still enjoys this theme (or anyone who still cares, for that matter).

Anywho, I suppose LeBreeze is, once again, in Kevin's hands, and will carry on however he wishes it. Again, I apologize for leaving such a mess, and I can only hope that any remaining issues will eventually resolve themselves in time.

As for me, I might actually release my own original theme someday. Or maybe get an actual website up and running. Heh, yeah, dream on. :)

PS. Kevin, I hope you're having fun with whatever it is you're up to now, and just one last time, I'd like to send a big thank-you for everything you've contributed to making Firefox more aesthetically pleasing. Good luck. And let us know when that GTK theme is available, okay? ;)

For anyone interested. There is a Breeze modification called Breeze Whiteheart. That one is working with Firefox 0.9 and available here.

The preview image of the Whiteheart theme is confusing. There's no solid blue in the theme buttons actually.

Regards.
When I sat down to read your post a tear dropped out of my eye, then I realized i sat on a joystick.

downloading the official lebreeze

Post by plucky »

I noticed that Kevin updated the theme for ff 0.9 and tb 0.7 on his website, but I get an error page from Deviantart when I try to download them. Is there a trick I don't know about?

Thanks.

Would Kevin ever consider making a version of Lebreeze with coloured buttons? Would anyone else like to see a bit of colour in Lebreeze?

Personally, one of the reasons to choose LeBreeze is the lack of colors. I only need color when it adds something to an interface (makes things more clear). The current icons are so clear that they do not need any color. My only colored icon was for Cookie Culler, because there is no B&W-icon for that extension yet. But I changed the icon myself now.

Switched back

Post by springofdark »

I switched back to my own server for hosting the files. This should clear up the reliability issues for both the firefox and thunderbird themes.

Jedy, yellowtab has colored icons and began as a variation of lebreeze. It is not the same as a colored lebreeze of course.

In spite of all this, I am afraid that the current theme would lose its mojo if given color - I could be wrong though.

It might work well to combine the winstripe icons with my theme.

Even my latest comps for Alazanto are losing their color...
