I wonder if we will have the option of turning it off?

In the middle image of the bug cited - was that a Tab Preview button?

That image was only made for the explanation.

Kuden - I saw that as I read the Bug. So I put in another question: can we turn it off?

What does it mean that between the 2008-08-29 and 2008-09-25 builds richview.xml and richview.css have been removed?

Does this mean we need to rewrite our code . . . again?

- no option
- userChrome.css: .tabs-newtab-button {display: none !important}
- remove "New Tab" Button from Customize Toolbar Window (Now, under discussion on Bug 456984)

Bug 452657 - Remove richview from toolkit
Maybe, richview is not considerably used ahead.

I can't believe. Again, high impact changes so close to a release.

Always. They actually plan it like that. Function, then feel, then look. From their perspective, it all makes sense.

Here's my biggest question:

Where do they assign the image? I can't find it in the css files of classic.jar.

And their removal of the competing New Tab button is perverse.

Ed, that image comes from the core these new browser, in Portuguese we'd call it "Foxidão"

Actually, I found it. It's at line 1563 of their browser.css.

And, as it turns out: because I already had a skin for the New Tabs button, it was an easy matter to just add a line to the code.

Well, that was for Aeon Big, which had special code for TBP's New Tabs button. As for my normal-sized themes, I think I'll stick with the plus sign and vary the backgrounds for :hover and :active.

Ahh... I see it. I thought you were referring to the image beside it... :-)

For me ,I'm afraid it will be another headache, because I use a different background image for the first button there:

Now I have to manage how I can put this button inside this "tab"at the right end and guarantee compatibility with old Firefox versions. And also with the old "friend" TMP...

As I've mentioned before, any discussions relating to our themes will remain in our Themes Dev forum. :)

I just thought that everyone would want this thread to be just the changes, with side discussions elsewhere...

If this is not the case, I apologise.....

However, maybe I should have said.... The thread is over there, with further discussion on this... (I'll get the polite phrasing right, one of these days.... :) )
