Um honestly does anyone else feel that the bird should look like it is glowing... I mean sunbird which is just yellow... :-/

I think it really should be more towards the orange and should have a sort of aura around it. Yeah I know real vague but it just looks wrong...

also as mentioned above making a brighter blue would ease the transition between the bird and the calendar.

AT 48x48?!

methinks someone's eyeballs had an over-active surge of imagination :)

Lol! I meant at the largest size! :P . I can barely see anything at 48x48, but the icon will still be used full size for promotional purposes, such as the webpage, and it wouldnt look nice in 2005 if the logo was "so last year" ;) In the end, i guess the decision lies with Mark, and the SunBird team though :)

Note that even at 48x48, you can't read the month and year or days, but you can tell there is writing in the calendar day boxes, so I would think that's good enough.

i really like the look of your logo. And I also think that it's good that it is more similar to thunderbird than it is to firefox, because the sunbird projekt feels more attached to thunderbird than firefox...
Continue the great job!

Will sunbird have it's own promoting-buttons like the fox and the other bird has? And what will the slogan be?

"reclaim you time"?
or maybe
"the calender, reloaded"?
hehe...

Cheers

Hi all - there's some cool work going on here.

Please keep in mind though, that Kevin and Steven are still actively working on Winstripe. I don't mean to quash the work going on here - just wanted to give a heads-up.

We'll try to get the Winstripe work a bit more out in the open so you guys can see where it's headed.

Will the calandering system be incorporated into thunderbird--like it is in outlook? I would much prefer this over a seperate app.Even though you can launch sunbird from within thunderbird I would prefer them to use the same window pane. If this is the case, I could see a final logo showing both birds...perhaps in a yin-yang like fashion. What do you guys think?

Ewwell!

Anyway, there is a palpable explanation. In keeping with the Mozilla legacy, this is our "interpretation" of what a pre-historic sunbird must have looked like.

Hey! Is that any less likely than a red T-Rex?

Sun Dial => SunBird, a natural progression

Similarly:

EDIT: I changed my mind.

Outlook => Outdated? :_)

Heck, those colours are way more appealing then the yellow in the current version, the yellow is way to bright in my oppinion. The green, red and/or perhaps brown from this actual bird would be a neater colourscheme, if you ask me.

This is just the first one that google.images throwed me. They can be of different colours.
This one is yellow: http://www.micktravels.com/australia/great_barrier_reef/119-sunbird.jpg

Sailfish:

That explanations is okay with me ^^

Now you can all get back to the party :)
