Then how come in the "support" or "bugs" threads on this forum the first thing people doing the supporting always ask is "Did you try a new profile?" or "Did you try a fresh profile?" and more than half of the time, doing so will fix the problem?

Some folks like putting dynamite on birthday cakes because it's funny and entertaining.

Many folks tend to run xp in administration mode, regardless of the purpose. Even if it's just for watching movies.

Thousands of folks went to watch the Titanic to see how it ends.

Considering the above, it's not a far-fetched assumption to believe that some of these people might play with aspects of Firefox they're too lazy to understand (research is our friend).

The same can be said about every piece of software. There was a time when owning a DOS boxen was a peril simply because fdisk was available and such folks thought it was fun to play with.

Very often, Firefox doesn't break, people break it. Firefox from my experience is incredibly sturdy.

Some extensions were updated, others were taken over by built in settings (Single Window and some other tab ones), but it is a month later, and things haven't changed a lot.

The Bookmark Links Checker seems to be the only one remaining.

Then, I think I can get rid of my "Show old extensions" extension!

Here's what I have:

~ Sasquatch (Profile Corruption): The profile I'm using right now is from a late 0.8 nightly, it hasn't corrupted once. I porked it twice by manually editing Chrome files but I made backups before doing so so it was all okay anyway. The only other problem I had was that an older EMButtons created dualitous Dom Inspector entries which I quickly found and deleted. I don't think profile corruption is the name of the game *Cough.* with Firefox at all. In honesty, I think it would take an action of abject foolishness to break a Firefox profile. Nightly Builds says this:
"Created most weekdays from the previous day's work, these builds may or may not work. Use them to verify that a bug you're tracking has been fixed.

We make nightly builds for testing only. We write code and post the results right away so people like you can join our testing process and report bugs. You will find bugs, and lots of them. Mozilla might crash on startup. It might delete all your files and cause your computer to burst into flames. Don't bother downloading nightly builds if you're unwilling to put up with problems."

Do you really need someone to change the damn maxVersion for you? Oh well, I see that it has already been taken care of. But...wth?

Someone has released a repack, but I haven't tried it myself. But you know, it takes like 5 seconds to change the version number. You really shouldn't need someone else to do that for you...and I already told you this back on 9-13.
