Thanks. It looks like you did a lot of work getting GM "fixed".

Since this isn't from the greasemonkey folks I broke the link. If you wish to download this please copy and paste the link.

@GOLF-AT: you should file an issue with the greasemonkey tracker with your fixes: http://github.com/greasemonkey/greasemonkey/issues

Has anyone been able to confirm that there is nothing malicious in this revised version? I scanned it with my Avira Antivir, Malwarebytes Antimalware and Superantispyware without getting any "hits". :-k

@GOLF-AT, sorry. No offense intended. Just being cautious like the others above. 8-[

I did a WinMerge diff comparison with the official version and saw nothing nefarious.

Thanks, GOLF-AT.

Well, that's two "endorsements" for GOLF-AT's work.

(I, too, did a WinMerge diffcomp, but, not being much of a programmer, I would not presume to be wise enough to say it looks fine to me and have others then run with that endorsement.)

I installed this after seeing a few others say it worked. Afterwards I ran a full system scan in MSE and found about 8 items of malware on my computer. Uninstalled the greasemonkey add-on and used the last stable build instead.

I would recommend against downloading this.

Did you run a scan before installing this version of greasemonkey? The malware could have been there before and not be related to this add-on.

Talk about paranoia. If you do a lookup, http://www.firefox.net.cn does not appear to be hosted in China (unless it's being proxied, which could happen for any number of supposedly US sites). The IP address is assigned to dreamhost.com; thus, the server is likely in California.

Anyways, you should always do a diff check between the modified and official release, of an extension you download from an unofficial source, before you install it. Even though the one I downloaded is clean, there's no guarantee that someone didn't subsequently hack the site and pull a switcheroo.

I run a scheduled scan once a week. It was clean the day before I installed this.
