(modifiedmisc) Abduction (Save As Image)

No longer works in SeaMonkey >2.14.
It will install, does all that it should, but any attempt to actually save a screenshot results in "Sorry image is too large Firefox cannot save it", & nothing is saved.

(Same results with the latest version, Abduction! 3.0.16.)
Also does not work in (an old version I had on hand) of FF 18.0a2 of 10/17/2012, so it seems broken in Gecko > 17.0.
Fire 750, bring back 250.

I'd really like to see WOT come back. I found elsewhere where it used to work with SM, but a problem came up and it was dropped. So far,I've found no safe searching tools. It doesn't have to be WOT - any safe search tool would be welcome!

If you install DuckDuckGo search plugin (not SSL version), it has WOT ratings of each site out to the left side. It doesn't prevent you from going to the site as the WOT extension can, but you do get the ratings similar to the way the extension works.

Second one in list under 3rd heading (Other General Engines):

Similarly, NoScript has a feature (center-click on a [NoScript displayed] domain name) to get "site info" on sites, defaulting to a page like this http://noscript.net/about/mozillazine.org;, but can be configured to directly use something else (like WOT).

Do you need to be logged in to that site in order to see the download? Or which particular post/link contained the download?

Starting with abduction-3.3.0-fx_noupdate.xpi, making the very same changes mentioned here, I captured this:

Image

(Original capture was 1.6 MB but photobucket only allows ~1 MB so what I've linked is not as good as the original.)

Source for this came from the fswl1234's link & I merely made it able to install in SeaMonkey.
IOW I have no idea what may or may not be within.
It worked, other then that I can't say.

In reply to therube:

Somehow I have a BackToTop 6.0.1 installed 24/6/2011. I don't remember where I got it from, but it works with different changes than yours.

In chrome.manifest I don't see the line you mention but I see

Code: Select all

overlay   chrome://navigator/content/navigator.xul      chrome://backtotop/content/backtotopOverlay.xul

(all on one line).
In install.rdf I don't see the "SeaMonkey" section you show, what I see instead is

Code: Select all

      <!-- Toolkit -->
      <em:targetApplication>
         <Description>
            <em:id>toolkit@mozilla.org</em:id>
            <em:minVersion>2.0b1</em:minVersion>
            <em:maxVersion>2.*</em:maxVersion>
         </Description>
      </em:targetApplication>

Despite its low maxVersion, this extension is not seen as incompatible by the Addon Manager of SeaMonkey 2.18a1 (Toolkit 21.0a1) — I suppose the "default to compatible" feature is working.
Best regards,
Tony

chrome.manifest.
There was a FF associated "style" line in there, so I just added a line likewise for SeaMonkey.
(Have no idea what it does, if anything?)

install.rdf.
Can be anything so long as it works ;-).
(I simply copy from the current NoScript & go with that.)

Hello, New (old) SeaMonkey user here. There are a few extensions that I use in FF that I really can't live without and am wondering what are the chances of modding them for SM.

The most important one is Vertical Tabs (or VertTabbar, Tab Kit (old), TabKit 2nd Edition, Side Tabs). I usually have a LARGE number of tabs open and a limit of about 10 barely readable horizontal tabs is just too confining. Stacking tabs vertically allows 30-40 or more tabs to be easily read and managed. And with VT, a simple mouse drag quickly resizes the tab widths from zero to whatever is desired in the moment. I modified the install.rdf to allow installation and SM says it is installed but nothing happens.

Similarly with Tabs Group Manager and SaveWithURLs, two other much needed extensions. They happily installed but are being totally ignored.

I have no experience in programming extensions but the XUL syntax doesn't too dissimilar from Javascript so if someone could hold my hand I might be able to mod them myself. However, I have no idea what is the same or different with the inner workings of FF and SM.

You can change the tabs width.
Try:
> browser.tabs.tabMinWidth & set it to 30.
