Hey, i just tried it again, and if works as you described it !!! If I wait after the initial mail retreval, the notice pops up for the automatic ones if TBird is mininized.
This is definitely a keeper! Thanks for the great tool!!!

Don't know if it could be possible, but one nice functionnality would be that ThunderTray offers the possibility to order ThunderBird to get mail by right-clicking on ThunderTray's icon.
And maybe even mail from all accounts when 'Get All Messages' extension is installed and enabled.

Hey,
Thundertray is really great and I am so happy I found the note on the German Mozilla page mentioning it.

I got a little issue though, I was wondering whether that is just me. If I load T-Tray manually after Windwos XP Prof. started, everything works perfectly (even though I read here that the icon is supposed to be pink??? mine's greyish / white :-)

). Anyway, if I put a shortcut of T-Tray into my Win XP startup folder, it will load automatically, however, the icon will NOT appear in the system tray. So if I start Thunderbird (not using T-Tray) and minimize it, it will minimize and disappear, but I can't access it because T-Tray isn't visible. The way I solve this is I hit Ctrl-Alt-Del and have the windows task manager stop the T-Tray process (after which T-Bird will shopw up in the taskbar again), and then I just load T-Tray again and everything will be fine. Anyone else have this problem? Thx, *Dan*

PS. Please don't scold me way too much if this is the best-known bug of T-tray. I'm new here and not familiar yet with Bug Reports and all that. If it is being worked on, a link to the bug report would be awesome

Additionally, it would be very usable if ThunderTray will MINIMIZE Tbird even if user "closing" it - alt+f4 or other way. Especially because there is already "Close Thunderbird" control under Thundertray icon.
And... i'm dreaming of such a tool for Calendar %)

Hi dfx, thanks for the work you've done on thundertray. I have one burning question though. Why did you create thundertray as its own executable and dll rather than a true Tb extension?

You should also edit your original post on the first page to link to 0.7.

Or just use thundertray.zip as filename. :)

I just downloaded this to try it... and when I run the exe I get the error message:

The procedue entry point Create Toolhelp32Snapshot could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNAL32.dll

Any ideas? I'm on WinNT. TB is closed when I run the exe.

Well, it hasn't been tested on Windows NT (at least not by me) so it is quite possible that it just won't work. At present I've only had confirmation that it does work on (at least most) systems with Windows ME, 2000 and XP. I will try to make it compatible with NT4 if this doesn't require me to rewrite too much of the application, so I can't promise it will ever work on that OS.

He he no problem thanks. NT is definitely not my choice, it's forced upon me by my employer. There are rumors we might go to XP.. but, those sorts of rumors are crazy around here.

Thundertray is currently not featured on the protonfx site, it is merely hosted there. Thundertray is currently freeware, not open-source thus the source code has not been contributed to Mozilla.org.
