Additional request to my prior featurereq:

Make it so, that you always switch to your last used tab when you keep switching on and on.

This is handy when you are working between two pages and for instance you need to copy paste a fewe things between them. Then you can fast switch between them using rightmouse + one scroll :)

I have an aggregated extension working on my new PC.
It includes Mouse Gestures, Rocker Gestures and this one (tab scrolling).
I must first formally request the permission from Joe 4711 to use his code, then use it a few days
and then publish it.

Sounds good. Opera Migration Package, indeed. :)

Hi,

first:
new version! it works now with TBE.

second:
features:

i think that "TabScroller" (thanks for the name) is an "information-menu" with the ability to select a tab.
When you press rightmousebutton + scrollwheel and the tab is changed immediately the information is
lost (where am i?).

changing between the last 2 tabs opened: suggestions

ScrollHistory: should be done by another extension, easy to make.

Options: I hate options! Better to decide by majority over wanted features.

third:
to mboullet: feel free to include "TabScroller" (but it has bugs) to your "migration-package"

final:
it´s obvious (see code) that i don´t know what i´m doing.

the beer tastes good...

Sorry if my post was misleading - I meant it should be a separate extension.

And as it has a lot in common with your "Tab Scroller" then it shouldn't be too difficult for someone who knows what they are doing.

Could called it "History Scroller" to match "Tab Scroller".

it´s obvious (see code) that i don´t know what i´m doing.

Well you know more than I do! ;)

Regarding my earlier comments on using the Tab Scroller with my IBM USB mouse with its blue "joystick", and finding extension intreguing, but the sensitivity not to my liking...

(If anyone cares, the pushing the IBM mouse's blue nipple/stick/thing up/down a little way scrolls a single line. If you hold the stick at that position it keeps scrolling at a slow speed. If you push the mouse nipple/stick/thing all the way up/down, it scrolls faster. It emulates the mouse wheel but its a bit different. And it has a middle mouse button as well. Took a bit of getting used to but I like it now for scrolling pages.)

...I have now used the Tab Scroller at home with my microsoft wheel mouse. And its perfect :)

Hats off to you (and to Opera for the inspiration).

Why?

Post by Tresni »

Why is this extention not in the list on Phoenix Help? This is blasphemy of the worst sort!

On to other matters:

Options: I hate options! Better to decide by majority over wanted features.

This majority votes that we should be able to change things like border around the box that appears without having to edit the file by hand... Also it doesn't match my theme at all.. Basic configuration options for readabilty, looks, etc should not be left out.. These are important to use who like things to be asteticly pleasing.

Found a bug for you (or maybe it's a quirk :)
Anyway try this:
- Activate the TabChanger Popup
- While holding down the right mouse button (Popup still active) move the mouse away from the Popup box
- Scrolling the mouse whell no longer scrolls the selection even though the Popup still has focus.
- If you mouse over the Popup you can continue to scroll through the tabs with the mouse whell.

It's not on Phoenix Help because nothing's on Phoenix Help at the moment. texturizer.net is down. I'm sure David will put it up as soon as the server comes back.

Awesome update! I like the new look too, much nicer!
Fast turn around too.. I didn't expect to see anything for a couple days but I did an update to the latest nightly and bam there is a new version of TabScroller! You are too cool!

TabScroller is missing! It should be added immediately or else I will have to cry and declare this world a big meanie.. Wait, I did that earlier..

visually and graphically seen, there has been a great improvement :) compliments!!!

hopefully you can implent my idea of switching between two tabs immediately (now you dont go immediately to another tab, but the active one; if you want to switch between two particular tabs, it would be very handy if you can switch between them with rightmouse + scroll, and that one time :)
(hope you understand this, this post is made under influence of liquor :P)
