yup, tried all them 3 settings, current window/tab, new tab, new window. Only menu options that work are about:config and about:plugins, others do work when typed to location bar.

GOOD JOB!!

Despite being picky and sparing about extensions, I've been using about:about for a while, and the improved Help DropDown is MUCH better - extremely cool, functional and (for me at least) NEEDED extension. The GREAT thing about "mrtech" stuff is that it's simple, defined . . . does the utility job it's intended for and NOTHING ELSE. I'm a "Palm" guy, and there's nothing better than a proggie that does what it says simply and isn't bloated. The same applies to your stuff (I'm going to try the "disable-wait-for-extensions" one).

Just a great job and thank you very much. As much as I "check things," "ALT-C" is a godsend!! Also very helpful is disk/cache if you suspect anything "weird" -- you can look right at it quickly. There are obviously other ways to do it for an experiened FX'er - but why bother when this extension makes it so damn fast!?

Thank you very much, I looking at possibly adding a few features:

- Allow the user to pick which menu to put the About:? submenu under, for example the Tools menu or the context menu, etc.
- will also be adding sidebar support for opening the window
- Toolbar Icons for about:config and about:plugins

If anyone can contribute images for the toolbar icons, I would be very much indebted, thanks again and let me know if you would like to see any other features, etc.

I have found that this extension doesn't work with Compact Menu. Any chance of a workaround? If not, I guess I am stuck with a choice and would have no choice but to keep Compact Menu - it is too integral to my setup at this point. Thanks for any help or info.

Did you try Menu Editor instead? It works perfectly (for me) with this great extension.

Unfortunately it doesn't do for me what Compact Menu can. I don't want to have one super-long list of all the File, Edit, View, etc. items. Compact Menu lets me create a nested menu of all these things. Unless I am missing something, I don't see how to do that with Menu Editor. However, it is a cool program and I already do use it. And thx for the suggestion.

You're welcome. Sorry it doesn't help, i see what you mean. You may want to ask asqueella and velcrospud if they can or have plans to add such an option. Nothing against Compact Menu but it might eliminate the need for another extension.

Excellent idea - and I will do so. Nothing against CM myself, but frankly, it is always nice to eliminate an unneeded extension - and in this case, I would also gain some functionality.

The 1.2.1 version included a fix that allowed middle-clicking on the about:config and about:plugins menu items. I found that, immediately after starting Firefox, I had to use the middle button to get these items to display anything; clicking on the left mouse button did nothing. However, after I had used the middle mouse button once, the left button then worked. Is this a bug, or something peculiar to my installation?

I'll do some testing with compact menus and menu editor and will see if I can find a workaround.

inrig: not sure about the clicking/middle-clicking, but they should all work, let me know if you are still seeing this problem thanks.
