Uploaded updated extension to the store

Post by tom-giga »

Hi All,
I have uploaded an updated extension to the store. This extension was converted from the old XPI (which was in the store) format to the new web extension format. Now that I have done that it appears that the extension is now in the review process. Why? When I do the same for the Chrome store it is available almost immediately. If I do try to install it in firefox I get the message that it could not install and the add-on appears to be corrupted, Can somebody explain to me what is going on?
Thanks,
Tom

Mozilla always reviews extensions that people upload to their website. They do this for new XPI extensions too.
Firefox won't install an extension that hasn't been approved by Mozilla - although you can download the Developer Edition and enable unsigned extensions there. (I forget how exactly - I'm using SeaMonkey which allows unsigned extensions by default.)
