My Acblock Plus in Firefox 56b6 (64 bit) has been seeing a LOT of updates lately.
It is currently showing:
Adblock Plus 2.99.0.1824beta
I don't think it has been a problem, and I am happy to see that it is being maintained and updated .
HOWEVER, I also have the beta version in Thunderbird, and it is not updating. I am not sure if it is related at all to this:
"Issue 29523615: Noissue - Increase version number for Gecko development builds, making sure these can update legacy… (Closed) "
The version in Thunderbird 52.3.0 (32-bit) is:
Adblock Plus 2.9.1.4260-beta

2.99 development builds are now WebExtensions, for the benefit of Firefox 57 nightly users. I don't think you are seeing anything to worry about, they deliberately exclude Thunderbird because it doesn't support WebExtensions.
