Why firefox commit suicide with not supporting legacy addon?

Post by lingxf »

Chrome has gain larger marketing share than firefox, many people still use firefox just because of add-on. webextension has too much limitation, it can not implement feature and UI as similar as legacy firefox addon.
like can not add a toolbar, can not show a native pop dialog box.
Now firefox 57 not support legacy addon, so any reason to still use firefox?
also firefox 57 has many website can not access.

Many reasons, actually.

Not seeing reports of that so you'd have to provide evidence to prove your claim.

But this thread is being locked as we already have enough complaining/whining/groaning threads about version 57.
