If it isn't, I think it would be great if it were possible! I have tried, but it doesn't seem to work.

Reskinning CuteMenus is as easy as opening the cutemenus.jar and replacing the images in /res

Yes, i realize that. But if I want to distribute them as part of a theme, is that possible in any way?

Well, that's nice, but I hope you don't mind if I ask, "After downloading these files to my hard disk, what do I do with them to make them appear in Cutemenus?"

If you do mind if I ask, I hope you'll tell me anyway....

mozDude:
Hey- could you post a screenshot of the border/padding-issue?

arch:
Very nice. The first will be default, next version; maybe an option for the others.

If you're working on a full-fledged theme, you can actually bypass CuteMenus entirely and incorporate the css / icons directly -- "skinning" all menus.
.
However, adding icons to CuteMenus is incredibly easy: with v.3.1, just zip your icon-pics directly into an archive (no enclosing folder). Rename the archive to 'themeName.jar', and drop it in "CuteMenus Themes". --Just search your computer for this directory.
.
If you'd like to distribute it, just write an installer which copies that jar into CuteMenus' theme-directory. Just msg if you need help on this.
.
The installer for v.3.1 is <a href="http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=33787&start=105#273844">here</a>.

I appologize if I seem to be nattering, but I'm a skin rookie. (I'm still using that excuse... but I think it's still valid.) 8-[

What should I do to skin the menus? Is there any part of the cutemenus extension that I could incorporate into my skin? (I have looked at the content of the cutemenus.jar in chrome, but I don't understand what I should do.) I would be very greatful for some help, and I would obviously credit anyone for helping me incorporate cutemenus into my skin.

I have this weird problem with downloading the last skinned (with OfficeXP menus and icon choices- dev?) release of CuteMenus because it scrunches all the menus at the top very closesly. If I use the chrome from Office XP it works fine, although the icons are "off" until I change padding to 0. To the author- what is skinning the toolbars supposed to do?

Also is there any way to exclude the address bar dropdown and autocomplete from being skinned as well? It just looks odd but I can live with it if the menus can only be globally applied :)

What should I do differently to place an image at a menu item as opposed to at a context-menu item? (They don't have ID's if I've understood it correctly, they have labels.) I have finally managed to get some icons onto the context menus... Thanks for your help!

the best option is probably to ask for ids to be added in bug 170243 (the one linked from the "needing an ID for your overlays?" thread)

You see the border when you have a winxp style on? Is there a way to get rid of that annoying border? Right click the task bar then anywhere in mozilla.. I've seen a few styles fix this... But i'm not sure how O-o.

I guess I'll maintain this -- despite the <a href="http://cute.mozdev.org">official project</a>'s continued silence.
.
If you have issues with the OfficeXP skin, first realize you can disable it. Second, if you want it tweaked, post a screenshot detailing your issue.

So there is no way at all to skin the menu items, without making an extension?
