Re: Bookmark sync for Seamonkey

It was ported and it works but there was severe dataloss as it didn't understand some subtle differences between the firefox and seamonkey implementation of the bookmark system.

It's not an addon, but it's a java plugin for Eclipse
and is implemented in java as a set of plug-ins to the Eclipse platform

Yeah, I read that, so it confused me. Seemed odd that it would only work with Firefox, so I thought that maybe there was an extension involved or something.

It's an IDE so I think it just means that it only knows how to build/package a firefox extension (or invoke Firefox to test your XUL).

I was going to fiddle with ColorfulTabs but then I saw the licence at http://colorfultabs.googlepages.com/colorfultabslicense

I tried to download

FireFTP 0.97

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/684

for SeaMonkey but there was no install script.

That's an FTP protocol. Given that SeaMonkey has Composer, doesn't it still need an FTP? for purposes of uploading files. If so, the Suite should have one.

Can we get FireFTP 0.97 working for SeaMonkey. I will download it in Firefox for the time being.

I've managed to get the latest Fireform (Version 0.5) working except for the new icons.
Would Philip like me to upload it to his site?

You'll have to make do with 0.96.4 until I get around to 0.97.x

TabMixPlus will never be ported to SeaMonkey as it is specific to the Firefox tabbrowser widget. The SeaMonkey tabbrowser widget is very different and would require a total rewrite of TabMixPlus.

Phil

imho TMP is the best for tabbing ...
Is it possible that FF tabbrowser widget would be supported in SM ?

When hell freezes over perhaps, but not before then.

Seeing that the batting average of getting extensions to work with SeaMonkey has been very good, I thought I would jump in with a couple of requests of my own.

Show Anchors
No New Window on Double Click

Although it increases the difficulty in typing, my fingers are crossed. :-)

Thanks,
Laurence
