Re: Post the extensions you want compatible with SeaMonkey

Post by Philip Chee »

Just to note that I'm trying out a new workflow:
1. One week porting extensions.
2. One week working on SeaMonkey patches/gubsbugs.
3. One week working on my own extensions (flashblock, console2, xSidebar).
4. One week working on SeaMonkey patches/bugs.

Of course I'll probably fail to keep to this schedule, especially if something urgent crops up.

Can this version of Save As Image also work on SeaMonkey 1.1.x if provided an install script?

Code: Select all

      <!-- Firefox -->
      <em:targetApplication>
         <Description>
            <em:id>{ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}</em:id>
            <em:minVersion>3.0a1</em:minVersion>
            <em:maxVersion>3.0.*</em:maxVersion>
         </Description>
      </em:targetApplication>

So the answer is probably: No. Or you might get lucky and the author just doesn't want to support Firefox 2.0.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addons/versions/3408

The last version compatible with Firefox 2.0 was 2.022 and there does not seem to be any significant changes except for "Improved drawing performance", which could mean anything from a few tweaks to a total rewite using Gecko 1.9.0 specific features.

Abduction (Save As Image)
...
The difference between Save As Image and a program to do screen shots resides in that this extension takes an image of the complete page (the complete one) even when part of it is not viewed due to its size.

Not correct description (by the author).
FastStone Capture for example. - "Capture scrolling window"

asked here 2 weeks ago, is it possible, to port the funambol-extension (beta for thunderbird3, for TB2 there was/is a stable too) for SM2?

Install was possible here (with "don't-check-compat-pref"), but don't get any Dialogs/ Buttons.
Have tried something to hack in it, voa chrome://...funambol... but preferences-dialog doesnt work, and some other things too.

Hi Mike,

This seems to have fallen off my radar. I've added it to my TO-DO list.

I've updated the Dictionary Search Mod to version 3.6.1
http://xsidebar.mozdev.org/modifiedmisc.html#dictionarysearch

Enhancements in this modification:
  • Added compatibility with SeaMonkey 2.0 and Thunderbird 3.0.
  • Reimplemented the SeaMonkey 1.x prefpanel from 0.9.3 as a SeaMonkey 2.0 prefpane.
  • In Thunderbird 3, open the search in a content tab instead of launching a browser.
Install Dictionary Search for Seamonkey 2.0:
dictionarysearch_3.6.1-mod.xpi

Dictionary Search provides a very easy way to lookup (or translate) a word in a Web page or an email in an online dictionary such as thefreedictionary.com. Simply select the word you want to lookup. Then right click and select "Dictionary Search for ...". A new tab or browser window will open with the meaning of the word you selected.

You can use up to 4 different dictionaries, which you can configure yourself. For more info go to the Dictionaries page. There you will find instructions on how to change or add dictionary. It also contains a large list of other possible dictionaries in a significant number of languages.

NOTE If you are looking for spelling dictionaries for Thunderbird or SeaMonkey you should visit http://dictionaries.mozdev.org

The author of Speed Dial did promise to look into making it compatible with SeaMonkey but I guess he's forgotten.

Conduit has a bad reputation as malware and spyware. They claim to have reformed and are on the straight and narrow, but I'm not holding my breath. Also Conduit toolbars are not open source so you aren't allowed to modify them.
