I've just had a peek at the source code of Feedly and the changes needed are trivial (<5 minutes editing, 10 minutes testing). However.... https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/versions/license/86089Clause (ii) seems applicable to modifying it to install in SeaMonkey. However clause (i) means that I can't let anyone have my modified SeaMonkey version anyway. Pity because it would be soooo easy. Phil[/quote] Any chance you could share the parts to edit?

If you can get a letter in black and white from Feedlys lawyers saying that they won't sue me if I tell you, sure. Otherwise, no. Phil (can't afford expensive lawyers)

I helped the Cooliris guys port the original Cooliris extension to SeaMonkey 1.x so obviously they should remember how it was done. Have you emailed them to ask them for SeaMonkey 2.0 compatibility with Coolpreviews? You can point them to this article here: https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Extensions_support_in_SeaMonkey_2Phil
Here is a reply I received from CoolIris in regard to my inquiry: On Mon, Dec 7, 2009 at 10:23 AM, James <jaskinner@bbc.net> wrote: Would it be possible to make the Cooliris -Coolpreview so it can be used in SM 2? See link https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Extens ... eaMonkey_2 Thank You, Hi James: Thanks so much for writing us about making CoolPreviews available for Sea Monkey. Interestingly, even though Sea Monkey is a Mozilla project, it's code base differs enough from Firefox that making CoolPreviews compatible would require a bit of work. This is particularly true since we'd need to write a new code base ourselves, doubling our code, QA, and development. So, our team decided to focus only on Firefox now, making sure that we keep it updated and fresh, with new features and improved performance. We thank you for your understanding, your support, and your using CoolPreviews. Kindest regards, Alec -- coolpreviews@cooliris.com

http://xsidebar.mozdev.org/modifiedmisc.html#dictThe Dictionary Search project is a Mozilla extension that lets you easily look up the definition of words on a Web page using an online dictionary. Simply select a word, right-click, and you'll see a menu option to define the selected word. The definitions are returned in a new window. The Dict project is an implementation of a DICT protocol client. The DICT protocol is defined in RFC 2229. By default, the Dict extension queries the DICT server on dict.org for definitions, but it can be configured to use any DICT server. Feature SetThe latest release of the Dict project is usable, but does not support the full set of features planned for the 1.0.0 release. The following features have been implemented: - A "define selection" pop-up menu item that defines the selected word.
- When no definitions are found, a page of nearest matches is returned.
- When only one nearest match is found, its definition is returned.
- Can be configured to use a user-selected server. Depending on the chosen server, the extension can be used to define words in other languages and/or translate words from one language to another.
- Rudimentary support for the "dict" URI scheme.
Install Dict for Seamonkey 2.0 and above: dict-0.6.76-mod.xpi

What percentage of growth could one reasonably expect by SeaMonkey compatibility?

Hello, I suppose this is slightly offtopic for this thread but I don't know of a better one.
Question: How hard would it be to make an extension to customize the "Recent" folders in the Mail & News "Move To" menu (either to have some mailbox always appear there, or some others never appear there, either possibility would suit me)?
The reason I ask is that the folders whereto I often move mail manually are constantly pushed out of the menu by the destinations of filter moves, and moving one email or thread manually again, be it by "Message => Move to...", "Right-click => Move to..." or by D&D with the mouse, usually don't make the destination folder appear in the "Message => Move to => Recent" submenu. But once a destination is there, it will remain... as long as I keep moving mail to it every few hours. Then it goes away again. Very frustrating (since I hardly ever manually move mail to the folders where my filters dispatch the incoming mail from "known sources", yet these keep taking all the space in the "Recent" move-to submenu).
Best regards,
Tony

This Thunderbird extension sounds interesting: QuickFolders (Folder Tabs) 1.6.4Bookmark mail folders in Thunderbird.
This extension adds an extra toolbar to Thunderbird. When you drag a mail folder to it, you get a (rename-able) shortcut to that mail folder. This supports full drag and drop, like the corresponding folder in the folder tree - You can drag messages on it to move/copy them to the folder, and access the bookmarked folders through keyboard shortcuts.
This is handy when you have a large tree of folders for clients or projects, but use only a few of them at the same time.
The Category feature adds more usability by adding distinct areas to work in; this can make it easier to focus on a task that needs just a subset of the folders visible. You can also have everything visible with the new "Multiple Line" view.

...and boasts support of Sm 2.0 to 2.0.* — interesting indeed. Thanks Phil! I'm going to see what it really can do. But no bets yet.

Oops sorry. Should have pointed you to the SeaMonkey URL instead. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/3254Phil

No prob. I've already taken the habit of replacing /thunderbird/ or /firefox/ in AMO URLs by /seamonkey/ or /sunbird/ to see if these apps are also supported (nowadays, if they aren't, it redirects back to Fx, Tb, or whatever the extension supports). I've already conducted a few tests on this add-on (with the appreciation of "usable but far from perfect"), and I've CCed you on the email I wrote to one of the extension devs about the problems it gave me (the other one I didn't find how to contact). Edit: One of the extension authors has sent me a test version of Quick Folders 1.7pre6, which fixes the most serious issue I had with version 1.6.4 and reduces all other issues to "trivial" severity by BMO standards. Let's hope this new version (or its "stable" release) soon gets approved for upload at AMO.

http://xsidebar.mozdev.org/modifiedmisc.html#imagezoomImage Zoom is an easy to use extension that works with Firefox, Mozilla, Thunderbird, Netscape and Flock. If you have ever had an image that was too large to fit on your screen or too small to see the finer detail in your browser or email, then image zoom can help. Image zoom gives you complete control of the size of most images displayed in mozilla based software. Both individual images or whole pages of images can be zoomed. Install Image Zoom for Seamonkey 2.0 and above, and for Thunderbird 3.0: imagezoom_0.4-mod.xpi
