Hi Frank,
IMHO it would be a good idea to have a submenu (in Tools menu) for all the AttachTools entries.

Thunder DE,
While your suggestion has merit, I wouldn't like for the AttachmentTools entries to get 'lost'. I think having them in the tools menu as they are ( with seperators above n below ) is good enough.
But... I can see where it would be a problem for some ( that have umpteen extensions, all adding entries to the tools menu, thus making the tools menu very akward
I *might* research making a pref that allows the AttachmentTools entries populate a submenu of tools..
Good nuf ?

Ok, it seems to kind of worked (trying on a third computer at work). . .it deleted the attachment, put the email back, but it was the only message that showed in that folder. I left the folder and came back and the rest of the messages were still there. . .good thing. . . Do I need to check the automatically compact option?

Some suggestion on usefull features (at least for myself ) for detaching attachment
* The placeholder that indicates that the attachment have been deleted is a pure text file,
html would be more usefull: this allows to directly have a link to the file
* If there is already a file with the same name on the directory on which the file should be detached,
don't overwrite it. Rename the file (foo.doc should become foo~1.doc and so on)
I can implement theses features.
Regards
