Hi!

Something's up. I get spammed with content processes. It looks like all content processes are started based on the value of dom.ipc.processCount (which is quite a lot for me), which is pretty stupid.
Also I got unreasonably high cpu usage and lag while browsing facebook and youtube.

Can anyone confirm any of this?

I can't reproduce this behavior, I have processCount set to 4 and I get 3 processes on startup with one tab (about:blank), after I load any site in it the number of processes doesn't change.

I get 40+% CPU usage just by one process when loading 4-5 mozillazine threads in the background, can reproduce the same behavior on many other sites as well. Also, scrolling sometimes looses smoothness, more details here: https://forums.informaction.com/viewtop ... 10&t=22673

Try more content processes. It looks like all of them start wasting cpu time when I play a video in a single tab. Of these three processes have high cpu usage. Including the main thread. One content process (the first) also leaks memory constantly during playback. (selected on the picture). It's pretty messed up.

This might be something entirely different since I don't use noscript at all.

On inbound you can enable Webrender by setting the pref 'gfx.webrender.enabled' to true. Whether it is working I have no idea.

WEBRENDER
opt-in by default: WebRender is an opt-in feature
available by user: Enabled by pref

One problem I see is that I get a red screen at times that sometimes will go away after a second or two or stay permanently where I have to exit Fx. Don't know if it's related to Webrender or another bug.

***** Enabling WR looks like it is causing the red screen. I also notice the spinner on a tab is only partially drawn when WR is enabled. Guess WR is still a WIP.

No more "aerodynamic tabs" - https://air.mozilla.org/firefox-australis/ ... =D>
Looks like the Mozilla likes to waste its money and likes to never bored UX and UI teams... ](*,)
Maybe the Mozilla should just implant the Classic Theme Restorer, if backout of the Australis will be too much to handle, or just recruit Aris for this job... :vamp:
Jesus... These useless losers actually make money with all this crap?

This could be Bug 1329630 - Firefox constantly uses 100% CPU after long time movie browsing, even after closing movies

@ Alice0775 - There are in bug #1329630 comment #0, in short, watching many (about >20-50) streams and clips in over 1-2h should get your CPU trashed heavily, even after closing all tabs and windows, with leaving only one blank tab.
I'm still under diagnosing it, as it's suspected, that it was fixed by Bug 1344772 - Logical loop with CPU exhaustion in MediaFormatReader::NotifyDataArrived,
so don't also waste your time on that, as it's extremely time consuming to reproduce and I'm doing it already.

Bug 1349991 - High CPU usage and growing heap-unclassified allocations in gfx process during video playback looks similar, but in my case, RAM usage didn't grow and Firefox didn't crash,
other similar to this issue is Bug 1344357 - Closing a content window with a seeking video leaks the window

Have you enabled dom.ipc.processPrelaunch.enabled?

Check about:config - this may have been turned on.
