Re: The first official 20180322 builds are not yet out

Today a couple of times this morning after the morning update I had been searching, using images.google.com, suddenly the images.google.com tab would freeze, CPU usage would go up, and stay there briefly.

First time after scrolling part of the screen didn't paint and the tab was frozen for about 20 seconds, and then it unfroze and the rest of the page finished painting.

The second time I clicked on an image to open a section which would show a larger picture and a link to the site, but it froze for about 10 seconds before showing a larger picture with link.

My gut feeling is garbage collection, but the Windows Task Manager for the second occurrence showed over a couple gig RAM available.

This is Windows 7 (64-bit), Nightly 61.0a1 (2018-03-21) (64-bit) Build-ID 20180321040527.

It looks like there is yet another update waiting, which I'll have to wait another 25 minutes to apply. (The Security Now YouTube videos typically run 2 hours and, yes, it was running in a different content process, and, no, it did not pause while the content process for images.google.com was running.)

Is it worth while for me to run the Gecko Profiler and save the profile when I get a content process freeze?

There's been the thing about the maximized tabs on restart. I'm wondering if there's a bug on a related issue: Every time the browser restarts, the non-maximized size of the windows shrink.

It's still remembering to maximize them during startup, but when I create a new window, it's not maximized, and it keeps getting smaller and smaller with each new browser session. Same size as the windows as they're created on browser start, in the flash before it maximizes them.

I can un-maximize each window and resize it manually, then maximize it again, and it will be that size (approximately?) for the next restart, but it will return to shrinking them again after that.

Yes... https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1446264 PLEASE no comments that bug is noisy enough now with dev's pondering how to fix, they seem to be having on hell of time figuring out how to fix.

Oh, is that the reason Firefox is taking longer to start-up and shows a blank white window (like WR) while doing so?

EDIT: Yup, disabling fixes it... Can't understand the logic behind it...

With today's morning Nightly I get the 'does not shut down' completely error. The screen blanks to a black framed window.

Seems like a problem I was having and was subsequently fixed recently is now back with the latest Nightly.

STR
Don't have Fx running. Run a program that has web links in it. A good program to use is CPU-Z which you probably have. Go to the last tab (About) which has a link to their hompage. Two windows will open up. A completely white screen from top to bottom and the hompage screen. Not all programs have this behavior. Confirm?
Intel i9-13900K | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO DDR5 | 64GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 @ 6600 Mhz.
H100i ELITE CAPELLIX XT Liquid CPU Cooler | PNY 12GB GeForce RTX 3080 Ti | 2 CORSAIR 2TB MP600 PRO XT GEN 4
